Capitol University (CU), formerly known as Cagayan Capitol College, is a non-sectarian, co-educational private academic institution established in 1971. Historical Milestones

  • 1971: Capitol University opened its doors with secondary and tertiary programs in Liberal Arts, Commerce, Education, and Secretarial.
  • 1973: Introduced the first Midwifery program in Region X and inaugurated a Maternity Hospital for student practicum.
  • 1974-1976: Expanded to include Nautical Studies, Marine Engineering, Forestry, Nursing, and Agricultural Technology programs. The acquisition of M/V Capitol College further strengthened maritime education.
  • 1981: Established the Graduate School, offering programs like M.A. in Filipino.
  • 1987: Opened the St. Francis Learning Center for preschool and elementary education in Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City.
