The Bislig Water District (BCWD) is a key provider of water services in Bislig City. Established to meet the community’s needs, the district continues to address several pressing challenges while aiming to improve its services and infrastructure.
BCWD’s Current Initiatives
BCWD is undertaking significant projects to enhance its water supply and waste management capabilities. These include:
- Bislig City Bulk Water Supply Project: This project involves the design, financing, construction, and operations of a bulk water facility. With a minimum capacity of 10 million liters per day, this initiative aims to ensure a reliable supply of treated water sourced from the Burboanan River. It also includes the rehabilitation and expansion of the existing distribution network. The joint venture spans 33 years, including the construction period.
- Bislig City Septage Project: This project focuses on establishing a septage system, including a treatment plant with a minimum capacity of 40 cubic meters per day and a fleet of desludging trucks. Like the bulk water project, this initiative is also a 33-year joint venture.
Addressing Water Supply Issues
Many residents have voiced concerns about BCWD’s service reliability, particularly during dry seasons or unforeseen disruptions. Despite these challenges, BCWD is committed to improving its infrastructure and addressing these issues through its ongoing projects.
