Aunde Group

Founded in 1899 as Achter & Ebels, the AUNDE Group has evolved from a local textile mill into one of the world’s most influential automotive suppliers. Headquartered in Mönchengladbach, Germany, the group specializes in the development and manufacture of technical textiles, upholstery, seating systems, and complex interior modules.

With a presence in over 127 locations across 29 countries, AUNDE is the silent force behind the comfort and aesthetic of millions of vehicles worldwide.

Four Pillars: Multi-Brand Strategy

The AUNDE Group operates through four distinct brands, each a leader in its respective niche:

  1. AUNDE: International market leader for innovative surface technologies and seat covers, specializing in high-performance textiles and leather.
  2. ISRINGHAUSEN (ISRI): A global specialist in seating systems for commercial vehicles and technical springs, operating more than 50 plants in 20 countries.
  3. FEHRER: Experts in automotive interior components, including foam molded parts and composite modules.
  4. REINERT: Group’s technical plastics arm, producing high-precision injection-molded parts for a variety of automotive applications.

Sustainability: Pioneering Textile-to-Textile Recycling

In a significant move toward a circular economy, AUNDE Group recently announced a strategic cooperation with PreZero to establish an innovative polyester recycling plant.

Set to become operational in 2026, this facility will focus on recycling polyester-containing textile waste into high-quality granules. This initiative aims to reduce the industry’s reliance on PET bottle flakes and set a new standard for sustainable material sourcing in the automotive sector.

Global Reach: “Think Global – Act Local”

The AUNDE Group’s success is built on its proximity to its customers. By maintaining design, development, and sales teams near major automotive hubs, the group ensures that its solutions are tailored to regional needs while maintaining German engineering standards.

  • Europe: Strong production presence in Germany, Italy, Serbia, and Poland.
  • Asia: Rapid expansion in China and India, including recent plant extensions in Yancheng.
  • Americas: Major operations in Mexico (Puebla) and the USA, serving the North American manufacturing market.

Leadership and Future Outlook

As of January 1, 2026, the AUNDE Group has transitioned to an expanded executive management structure. Led by CEO Peter Bolten, the board now includes Tobias Lüpfert (COO) and Torsten Scholder (CFO). This leadership team is focused on navigating the challenges of autonomous driving and electrification, ensuring that car interiors of the future feel as comfortable as a living room.
