Kazlegprom-Almaty LLP

In the heart of Kazakhstan’s light industry, one name stands out for its commitment to quality, innovation, and national pride: Kazlegprom-Almaty LLP.

Since its founding in 2011, Kazlegprom-Almaty has evolved from a startup factory into one of the largest and most technologically advanced sewing and footwear enterprises in the country. Today, the company is not just a manufacturer; it is a symbol of Kazakhstan’s industrial modernization and its ability to compete on an international stage.

Visionary Expansion: Reaching 1 Million Pairs

In late 2024, Kazlegprom-Almaty announced a significant milestone in its growth strategy. With financial support from the Industrial Development Fund JSC (IDF), the company acquired cutting-edge, high-tech equipment for its sewing and footwear production.

This modernization project, supported by a 7-year lease at a competitive 3% interest rate, has transformed the factory’s capabilities:

  • Capacity Boost: Production capacity is set to jump from 650,000 pairs to over 1 million pairs of shoes annually.
  • Job Creation: The expansion has created 111 new specialized jobs, contributing to the local economy in the Almaty region.
  • Infrastructure: The facility now spans a complete production cycle from design and modeling to experimental workshops and high-precision embroidery.

Brands: QLP and Max Milani

Kazlegprom-Almaty markets its diverse range of products under two primary brands, catering to both the industrial and consumer sectors:

  1. QLP (Quality Light Products): Known for its durability and precision, this brand covers school uniforms, military gear, and specialized footwear for industrial and service enterprises.
  2. Max Milani: This is the factory’s premium line of model shoes. Developed in collaboration with leading Italian designers and technologists, Max Milani combines European elegance with the rigorous quality standards of Kazakhstani manufacturing.

From elegant men’s oxfords to rugged special-purpose boots, the factory’s seasonal range includes over 75 unique models, ensuring a fit for every walk of life.

“Made in Kazakhstan”: Presidential Endorsement

The success of Kazlegprom-Almaty has not gone unnoticed at the highest levels of government. In 2015, the First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, visited the factory and famously urged all citizens to support domestic producers:

“I want to tell all Kazakhstanis: we must buy our domestic goods, including shoes and suits ‘Made in Kazakhstan’.”

This visit served as a catalyst for the “Made in Kazakhstan” movement, encouraging the team to push for ISO-certified quality management systems and import-substitution goals that reduce the country’s reliance on foreign goods.

Excellence Through Innovation

What sets Kazlegprom-Almaty apart is its refusal to stand still. By integrating Italian machinery and design expertise, the company ensures that its footwear ranging from size 32 (school) to 46 (special footwear) meets international ergonomic and aesthetic standards.

As a prominent member of the Association of Light Industry Enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan (QLPA), the company continues to advocate for the growth of the textile sector, participating in international exhibitions like Euro Shoes Moscow to showcase Kazakhstani craftsmanship to the world.
