How to get a Philippine National ID?

REQUIREMENTS

The Philippine Government established the Philippine National ID as a unified identification system, merging various government-issued IDs into a single system. This ID allows individuals to engage in transactions and access government services in accordance with the Philippine Identification System Act (Republic Act No. 11055).

The registrant is advised to carry one of the following primary documents:

  • A Certificate of Live Birth issued by the PSA, accompanied by one (1) government-issued identification document containing the full name, a front-facing photograph, and a signature or thumbprint
  • Philippine Passport or ePassport issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)
  • Unified Multi-purpose Identification (UMID) Card issued by either the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) or the Social Security System (SSS)
  • Student Driver’s Permit or Non-Professional/Professional Driver’s License issued by the LTO (Land Transportation Office)

If the applicant lacks any of the aforementioned documents, they may present the following secondary documents:

  • PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth/National Statistics Office (NSO)-issued Certificate of Live birth with Birth Reference Number (BreN)
  • Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO)-issued Certificate of Live Birth
  • PSA-issued Report of Birth
  • PSA-issued Certificate of Foundling
  • Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Identification Card
  • Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) ID
  • Seaman’s Book (Seafarer’s Record Book)
  • Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) ID
  • Senior Citizen’s lD issued by the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and/or LocalGovernment Units (LGU)
  • Social Security System (SSS) lD
  • Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) ID
  • License to Own or Possess Firearms (LTOPF)
  • National Bureau of lnvestigation (NBl) Clearance
  • Police Clearance/ID
  • Solo Parent’s ID
  • Person with Disability (PWD) lD issued by the National Council of Disability Affairs (NCDA) or its regional counterpart, Office of the Mayor, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Office, and other participating organizations with a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Health (DOH)
  • Voter’s lD issued by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC)
  • Postal lD issued by the Philippine Postal Corporation (PhlPost)
  • Taxpayer ldentification Number (TlN)
  • PhilHealth ID
  • Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV) issued by the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA)
  • National ID from other countries
  • Residence ID from other countries
  • Professional identification Card issued by the Maritime lndustry Authority (MARINA)
  • Eligibility Card issued by the Civil Service Commission
  • Dependent’s lD lssued by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP)
  • Retiree’s lD issued by the PNP, AFP and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG);
  • Conductor’s License issued by the LTO;
  • Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) Pensioner’s lD (Veteran or Dependent);
  • Seafarer’s ldentity Document (Seaman’s lD);
  • Tribal Certificate/lD issued by the Tribal Affairs Office under the Office of the Mayor (if applicable);
  • Certificate of Confirmation issued by the National Commission on lndigenous Peoples (NCIP) or Certificate of lndigenous Cultural Communities (lCCs)/lndigenous Peoples (lPs) Membership (CIPM) issued by the Tribal Leader of ICC/IP
  • Certificate of Tribal\membership issued by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF).
  • Employee ID
  • School ID (for pre-school, elementary, and signature/thumbmark of the lD owner is not required)
  • City/Municipal ID
  • Barangay Clearance/Certificate
  • Barangay ID
  • Voter’s Certification issued by the COMELEC
    Prison Record
  • Certificate of Detention

REGISTRATION CENTER

In the province of Davao Del Norte, there are six designated registration centers:

  • Negosyo Center, Barangay Cambagonoy, Asuncion
  • Panabo City Hall, Barangay JP Laurel, Panabo City
  • PSA Office, 1/F Ango Building, Osmena Street, Tagum City
  • New City Hall, Barangay Penaplata Poblacion, IGACOS (Island Garden City of Samal)
  • ABC Hall, Barangay Maniki, Kapalong
  • Municipal Gymnasium, Barangay Tibal-og, Santo Tomas

PROCEDURE

To register for the Philippine National ID, do any of the following:

  1. Visit the closest Philippine National ID Registration Center. The official registration centers are listed above and you can also try the following:
  2. Supply your details and necessary documents. You may also be asked to undergo a fingerprint or iris scan.
  3. Wait for the PSN (PhilSYS Number) to be created.
  4. Wait for the Philippine National ID.
