Our History
Before it was named Trento, this town was a barrio of Bunawan called “Bahayan,” named after a lead sinker used in fishing nets. The early inhabitants were Manobos who lived along the river. On June 15, 1968, through Republic Act No. 5283, the town became a separate municipality and was renamed Trento in honor of the historic Council of Trent.
Today, we celebrate this heritage annually during the Dagayani Festival, showcasing our local culture, “Amakan” weaving craftsmanship, and abundant harvest.
