About Mariveles, Bataan
Mariveles is a first-class municipality at the southern tip of the Bataan Peninsula. It faces the South China Sea to the west and Manila Bay to the east. The area offers scenic coastal roads and mountain views that make for a challenging and memorable race course. Mariveles is historically known as the starting point of the 1942 Bataan Death March. Every April, the province marks Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) on April 9 to honor the fallen heroes of Bataan.
Getting to Mariveles, Bataan
Mariveles is about 140 kilometers from Manila. Drive via NLEX and SCTEX to Dinalupihan, then take the Bataan Provincial Road south to Mariveles. Travel time from Manila is roughly two to three hours by private vehicle. Public buses from Cubao terminal serve Bataan routes. From Balanga City, take a van or jeepney heading south to Mariveles.
