The Toyota Raize, a compact SUV manufactured by the Japanese automaker Toyota, entered the market in 2019. Positioned as an entry-level SUV in Toyota’s lineup, the Raize was built on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform in collaboration with Daihatsu. It shares numerous components with the Daihatsu Rocky.
With its sleek lines, distinct front grille, and modern, youthful appearance, it presents an attractive design. Despite its compact size, the Raize offers a surprisingly spacious interior, accommodating up to five passengers comfortably.
Powering the Raize is typically a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine coupled with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The available drivetrain configurations include front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, varying based on the market and specific variant.
Equipped with a range of modern technologies and safety features, the Raize boasts touchscreen infotainment systems, seamless smartphone integration, advanced driver-assistance systems, and multiple airbags to ensure passenger safety.
It originated from a collaboration between Toyota and Daihatsu, resulting in a rebranded version of the Daihatsu Rocky, which debuted at the 46th Tokyo Motor Show in October 2019. In Malaysia, the Raize is sold as the Perodua Ativa.
Toyota Motor Philippines introduced the Raize to the local market in February 2022. The 2023-2024 model is available in four distinct variants, with prices ranging from ₱ 746,000 to ₱ 1,031,000. The entry-level model is the 1.2 E MT 2022, priced at ₱ 746,000, while the top-tier variant is the Toyota Raize 1.0 Turbo CVT 2022, offered at ₱ 1,031,000.
