The City of Tagum is home to the Land Transporation Office (LTO) – a Philippine government agency responsible for ensuring safe private and public transportation in the city.

In this post, we compiled a list of LTO Fines and Penalties. This list may change without prior notice or updates on this post may be delayed due to any announcement done by the said agency that we do not know.

LTO FINES AND PENALTIES

• Driving without a valid driver’s license/conductor’s permit – PHP 3,000
• Driving a motor vehicle used in the commission of a crime upon conviction by a regular court of competent jurisdiction – PHP 10,000
• Commission of a crime in the course of apprehension upon conviction by a regular court of competent jurisdiction – PHP 10,000
• Failure to wear the prescribed seatbealt device (either driver or passenger)
  • First violation – PHP 1,000
  • Second violation – PHP 2,000
  • Third violation – PHP 5,000
• Failure to require his/her passenger(s) to wear the prescribed seatbelt device – PHP 3,000
• Driving under the influence of alcohol, dangerous drugs and/or similar substance upon final conviction by a regular court of competent jurisdiction
  • Not causing injuries or death: PHP 20,000 to PHP 80,000
  • Causing injuries: PHP 100,000 to PHP 200,000
  • Causing death: PHP 300,000 to PHP 500,000
• Reckless Driving
  • First conviction: PHP 2,000
  • Second conviction: PHP 3,000
  • Subsequent conviction: PHP 10,000
• Submission of fake documents in relation to the application for a driver’s license (New/Renewal) – PHP 3,000
• Failure to carry driver’s license, certificate of registration, or official receipt while driving a motor vehicle – PHP 1,000
• Failure to wear the standard protective motorcycle helmet or failure to require the back rider to wear the standard protective motorcycle helmet
  • First violation – PHP 1,500
  • Second violation – PHP 3,000
  • Third violation – PHP 5,000
  • Fourth violation – PHP 10,000
• Illegal Parking – PHP 1,000
  • Parking in an intersection
  • Parking within 5 meters of the intersection
  • Parking 4 meters from the driveway entrance
  • Parking within 4 meters from a fire hydrant
  • Parking in front of a private driveway
  • Parking on the roadway side of any unmoving or parked motor vehicle at the curb or edge of the highway
  • Parking at any place where signs of prohibitions have been installed
• Disregarding Traffic Signs – PHP 1,000
• Disobeying Traffic Light / Beating the red light – PHP 1,000
• Allowing passengers on top or cover of a motor vehicle except in a truck helper – PHP 1,000
• Driving in prohibited roads – PHP 1,000
• Failure to darken the headlamps – PHP 1,000
• Illegal turn or overtaking – PHP 1,000
• Driving without valid vehicle registration / unregistered vehicle – PHP 10,000
• Driving an illegally modified vehicle/car – PHP 5,000
• Driving a right-hand vehicle/car – PHP 50,000
• Driving a car without proper/authorized devices, equipment, accessories or car part – PHP 5,000
• Improper/unauthorized use of motor vehicle license plate – PHP 5,000
• Smoke Belching
  • First offense: Php 2,000
  • Second offense: Php 4,000
  • Third offense: Php 6,000
