Barangay Leadership and Liga ng mga Barangay (2013-2016)

Following his unsuccessful congressional bid, Malapitan returned to Barangay 137 as chairman and later won the presidency of the Liga ng mga Barangay, which granted him an ex-officio seat in the Caloocan City Council.
