Gingoog City, located in the province of Misamis Oriental in Northern Mindanao, is a chartered city known for its rich history, agricultural resources, and natural attractions. It is often called the “City of Good Luck,” as the word Gingoog originates from the Manobo word Hingoog which means good luck.

History

  • Originally settled by the Manobo people.
  • Became a chartered city on June 18, 1960, through Republic Act No. 2668.
  • Has roots as one of the earliest Christian settlements in Mindanao during Spanish colonization.
