Batangas State University
Batangas State University, also known as BatStateU or Batangas State, is a premier state university in the Philippines located in Batangas Province. It is widely recognized for excellence in engineering, architecture, business, education, sciences, and technology. The institution has established itself as a center of learning and innovation in Southern Luzon, with a strong emphasis on producing graduates who contribute to national development.
History
The roots of Batangas State University date back to 1903, when it was established as the Manual Training School offering courses in woodworking and mechanical arts. Over time, it evolved into the Batangas School of Arts and Trades and later became the Pablo Borbon Memorial Institute of Technology (PBMIT) in honor of Batangas Governor Pablo Borbon.
In 2001, through Republic Act No. 9045, the institution was officially converted into Batangas State University, ushering in a new era of growth and development.

- Mariano O. Albayalde (1986–1989)
- Ernesto M. De Chavez (1989–2006) – First president of Batangas State University after its conversion in 2001. His long tenure ended in 2006.
- Nora L. Magnaye (2006–2014) – First woman president of BatStateU, serving for eight years.
- Tirso A. Ronquillo (2014–present) – The first engineering alumnus and youngest president of BatStateU. Under his leadership, the university has been designated as the National Engineering University through Republic Act No. 11694.
