- Internal Security Operations: The DND provides support to law enforcement agencies in addressing internal security threats, such as terrorism, insurgency, and other forms of armed conflict. It coordinates with the Philippine National Police and other agencies to ensure the safety and security of the Filipino people.
- Disaster Response and Humanitarian Assistance: The DND plays a crucial role in disaster response and humanitarian assistance operations. It mobilizes military assets and personnel to provide immediate relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts during natural disasters, calamities, and emergencies.
- Defense Resource Management: The DND oversees the management of defense resources, including the budget, procurement, logistics, and infrastructure of the AFP. It ensures efficient and effective utilization of resources while adhering to transparency and accountability standards.
The DND works in close coordination with other government agencies, local government units, and international partners to address security challenges and protect the interests of the Philippines. Its aim is to maintain a credible defense posture and ensure the safety and well-being of the Filipino people.
