City of Digos – Davao Del Sur

Digos City, located in the southern part of the Philippines, is a 1st class city and serves as the capital of Davao del Sur province. Based on the 2020 census, it has a population of approximately 169,393 people. The city is a fast-growing commercial center that houses various businesses, including manufacturing, retail, and services. Additionally, agriculture contributes significantly to the city’s economy, with the main crops being rice, corn, coconut, and banana.

Digos City boasts various tourist attractions, such as hot springs, beaches, and nature parks. The Mount Apo National Park, the highest peak in the Philippines, is also a famous spot for hiking and camping in the city.

The city has a well-developed infrastructure with major roads that connect it to other cities and towns in the region.

In Digos City, the local government is headed by a mayor who serves as the chief executive officer. Josef Cagas, who won the 2019 election, is the current mayor of the city.
