The 60th International Tekirdağ Cherry Festival kicks off Thursday, June 11, 2026, turning the beautiful coastal city in Turkey’s Thrace region into a four-day celebration of culture, music, and community. Organized by Süleymanpaşa Municipality, this year’s milestone edition is expected to draw approximately 2.5 million visitors over four days.

A Century-Old Tradition

Now in its 60th year, the Tekirdağ Cherry Festival is one of Turkey’s longest-running cultural events. The festival opens with traditional ceremonies in the Naip neighborhood, followed by a colorful cortege parade and the ceremonial lighting of the festival flame. Visitors come from across Turkey and abroad to experience the unique blend of local traditions, musical performances, and sporting events that define this beloved celebration.

Süleymanpaşa Mayor Volkan Nallar emphasized the festival’s significance, noting that hotels in the area are already fully booked. “The Cherry Festival is one of Tekirdağ’s important cultural values. Interest in the festival increases every year. This year we will host many local and foreign guests in our city,” he said.

Festival Highlights

The 2026 program features an impressive lineup of Turkish music stars including Demet Akalın, Merve Özbey, Buray, Burhan Öçal, Poizi, and the group Sakiler. Beyond the concerts, the festival offers a wide range of activities including:

  • The Rakoczi Cup Sailing Races, held in honor of Hungarian Prince Ferenc Rakoczi
  • Various sports competitions and tournaments
  • Local food and cherry-themed treats
  • Cultural exhibitions showcasing Thrace’s heritage
  • Family-friendly activities for all ages

Festival Apparel and Merchandise

With 2.5 million visitors expected, the Tekirdağ Cherry Festival is a massive opportunity for custom apparel and promotional merchandise. Festival-goers love commemorative t-shirts featuring the festival logo, cherry-themed designs, and Tekirdağ landmarks. Local businesses and vendors are stocking up on custom-printed shirts, caps, and tote bags to meet the demand.

Group matching t-shirts are especially popular among friend groups and families attending the concerts together. Themed event tees featuring artist names, concert dates, and the festival’s 60th-anniversary branding are also in high demand.

More Summer Festivals Across Turkey

The Cherry Festival is just one of many exciting summer events across Turkey. Coming up later this month, the 10th International Bodrum Jazz Festival runs June 15-28, the 6th International Denizli Jazz Festival takes place June 14-21, and the Kars Living Heritage Feast (June 12-14) celebrates traditional crafts and folk music. In Bursa, Yıldırım’s 6th Traditional Handcrafts Festival showcases women’s handmade products alongside cultural performances.

Whether you’re attending the Tekirdağ Cherry Festival or one of the many other events this summer, custom t-shirts and apparel are the perfect way to capture the memories and show your festival spirit. Print your favorite designs, match with your group, and celebrate summer Turkish style!
