Montenegro is about to get a major dose of world-class music this summer. The legendary EXIT Festival — one of Europes most celebrated music events — is launching EXIT 2 MONTENEGRO, two brand-new free-entry festival events taking place in the coastal towns of Ulcinj and Budva as part of its Global Tour 2026.
What Is EXIT Festival?
Originally born at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia, EXIT Festival has grown into one of the continents most respected music gatherings. Known for its eclectic lineups spanning electronic, indie, hip-hop, and alternative genres, EXIT has won multiple awards and drawn hundreds of thousands of fans from across the globe. Now, for the first time, the brand is planting its flag in Montenegro.
Ulcinj: July 3–6, 2026
The first event kicks off in Ulcinj, Montenegros southernmost coastal town known for its long sandy beaches and rich cultural heritage. The festival weekend runs from July 3 to July 6, with warm-up events starting as early as July 1. The lineup features an impressive roster of electronic and dance music talent, including Argy, Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex, Monolink, Stephan Bodzin, Deer Jade, Awen, and Space Motion. Ulcinjs stunning seaside setting provides the perfect backdrop for open-air performances under the Balkan sun.
Budva: August 24–27, 2026
The second event heads to Budva, the heart of Montenegros famous Riviera. Running from August 24 to August 27, this edition promises another stacked lineup with artists like Peggy Gou and Charlotte de-Witte confirmed to perform. Budvas ancient Old Town and vibrant nightlife scene make it an ideal host for what is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about music weekends of the summer.
Why This Matters for Montenegro
The arrival of EXIT Festival is a significant moment for Montenegros tourism and cultural scene. The country has been steadily building its reputation as a premier European destination, and hosting a globally recognized brand like EXIT reinforces that positioning. The events are expected to draw thousands of international visitors, boosting local businesses, hotels, and the broader hospitality sector during the peak summer season.
Free Entry — But Plan Ahead
Both EXIT 2 MONTENEGRO events are free to enter, making them accessible to locals and travelers alike. However, with lineups of this caliber and Montenegros growing popularity as a 2026 destination, accommodation and transport are expected to fill up quickly. Festival-goers are advised to book early and plan their routes between Ulcinj and Budva if they want to catch both weekends.
Get Your Festival Gear Ready
Summer festivals in the Balkans are as much about style as they are about music. Whether you are heading to Ulcinjs beach stages or Budvas open-air venues, having the right festival t-shirts and custom-printed apparel can make your experience even more memorable. Custom Montenegro-themed festival shirts are a great way to commemorate the occasion — and they make perfect souvenirs.
