Luxembourg has once again made its mark on the European innovation stage, participating in the tenth edition of Viva Technology in Paris, France, on 18-19 June 2026. This year marks the Grand Duchy’s eighth participation in what has become Europe’s premier technology and innovation trade fair.

The Luxembourg delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, who also serves as Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Foreign Trade, alongside Minister of Research and Higher Education and Minister of Digitalisation Stephanie Obertin. Both ministers attended the trade fair to promote Luxembourg’s growing innovation ecosystem and strengthen international cooperation in key technology sectors.

The Luxembourg pavilion, coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, hosted thirteen innovative companies spanning a wide range of cutting-edge fields. Participating startups and firms represented sectors including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics, augmented reality, educational technologies, digital health, and climate technologies.

During their visit, the ministers met with founders of the participating startups and engaged with companies closely linked to Luxembourg’s national innovation ecosystem, including DEEP by POST Luxembourg, Inui Studio, and Leexi. This year’s VivaTech edition featured India as the partner country, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence. Minister Bettel visited the Indian pavilion and held bilateral meetings with India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, as well as Maurice Levy, co-founder of the VivaTech trade fair.

Minister Obertin met with foreign delegations and institutional representatives from Wallonia, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, and Quebec to discuss cooperation in research, innovation, digital technologies, and technological sovereignty. Minister Bettel emphasized that the Luxembourg startup ecosystem continues to grow and is an essential driver of innovation, while Minister Obertin highlighted that Luxembourg has the talent, scientific excellence, and entrepreneurial spirit needed to develop the technologies that will shape the economy and digital sovereignty of tomorrow.
