President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited General Trias City, Cavite to personally lead the distribution of government assistance to residents, bringing much-needed support directly to the local community.
During the aid distribution event, the President announced that each of General Trias City’s 33 barangays will receive PHP 200,000 in financial assistance through the Socio-Civic Projects Fund. Half of that allocation — PHP 100,000 per barangay — is designated to fund scholarships for local students, giving families in the city greater access to educational opportunities.
The visit also included rice distribution for families across the city, ensuring that immediate food assistance reached those who need it most. The President also met with 165 Bagong Pilipinas scholars from the area, encouraging them to continue their studies with dedication.
This initiative reflects the national government’s push to bring services and financial support closer to the grassroots level. For a growing city like General Trias — one of the most populous and rapidly developing areas in Cavite — direct government aid at the barangay level can make a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of residents.
General Trias City has seen significant growth in recent years, with expanding residential communities, new commercial developments, and improving infrastructure. Local officials have welcomed the continued national government support as the city works to keep pace with its own rapid development.
Residents of General Trias can check with their respective barangay halls for information on how to access the scholarship programs and the full range of assistance rolled out during the President’s visit.
