Slovakia’s premier summer classical music festival, Viva Musica!, returns to Bratislava for its 2026 edition running from May 28 through August 6. Now in full swing, this internationally acclaimed festival transforms the Slovak capital into a vibrant stage for world-class classical, jazz, and world music performances.
What Makes Viva Musica! Special
Viva Musica! is not a typical stuffy classical concert series. The festival’s motto “Classic Goes Modern” captures its unique approach of making classical music accessible for everyone. Concerts take place in atmospheric settings including the Slovak Radio building, Old Market Hall, Moyzes Hall, and garden venues.
The 2026 edition features the Slovak premiere of Philip Glass’s opera “Einstein on the Beach” with Suzanne Vega as narrator. Additional highlights include Dalibor Karvay’s 40(+1) concert, the Janoska Ensemble, and the Bratislava Boys’ Choir.
Festival Apparel
Festival-goers show their Bratislava pride with custom apparel featuring Slovak motifs and skyline graphics. Light summer tees, hoodies for cool Danube evenings, and tote bags are popular choices.
