KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., continues to strengthen its rapid and humanitarian response efforts to address the urgent needs of displaced constituents. Through the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (OPSWDO) and its Disaster Response Team, shelter kit assistance was recently extended to 23 families from Purok Santos, Barangay Zone III, Koronadal City.
The families were affected by a demolition activity, leaving them in need of immediate shelter support. The provincial government allocated shelter materials worth ₱80,500.00 for the beneficiaries, providing them with essential materials to help them rebuild and recover.
Sonia Bautista, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer, underscored the importance of swift humanitarian action in situations involving displacement. “Our priority is to ensure that families affected by unexpected displacement receive immediate support. These shelter kits are not just materials — they represent hope, dignity, and a temporary safe space while they work toward rebuilding their homes and stability,” she said.
The assistance forms part of the province’s immediate disaster response initiatives aimed at providing temporary shelter support and easing the burden of displaced families while they recover and rebuild their lives.
This initiative reflects the provincial government’s continuing commitment to inclusive and responsive governance, ensuring that no South Cotabateño is left behind during times of crisis. Bautista further emphasized that the provincial government remains committed to strengthening its disaster response mechanisms to ensure timely and appropriate assistance for vulnerable communities.
Community organizations and volunteers involved in relief efforts often use custom event shirts and volunteer uniforms to coordinate their disaster response teams and identify personnel in the field. Having proper identification through personalized shirts and uniforms helps ensure organized and efficient relief operations.
The Provincial Government of South Cotabato continues to call for stronger coordination among local agencies and community stakeholders to ensure that assistance programs are delivered efficiently and reach those who need them most. Community pride apparel is also often used by barangay organizations to foster unity and solidarity during relief and community development initiatives in Koronadal City and surrounding areas.
