Copenhagen is alive with creativity this week as 3 Days of Design 2026 takes over the Danish capital from June 10-12. Under the theme “Make This Moment Matter,” the annual design festival has grown from a small gathering of four brands in 2013 to more than 400 participants across eight Design Districts, making it one of the most influential design events on the global calendar.

Make This Moment Matter: This Year’s Theme

CEO Signe Byrdal Terenziani describes this year’s theme as “a collective recalibration from ‘more’ to ‘meaningful.” The festival focuses on purposeful design, sustainability, and human connection rather than nostalgia or speculation. “The only moment that matters is now,” the festival states, framing design as a tool for action and positive impact.

Eight Design Districts Across Copenhagen

This year’s edition unfolds across eight Design Districts including Frederiksstaden, Nordhavn, Holmen, and Christianshavn. These districts combine historic architecture, waterfront redevelopment, and contemporary showrooms, offering visitors an immersive alternative to the conventional trade fair format. More than 300 exhibitors are participating, including Danish design powerhouses Carl Hansen & Søn, Fredericia, BoConcept, and Ferm Living alongside international brands and independent studios.

New Additions for 2026

A major new addition to the programme is the introduction of Long Table Dinners, communal evening gatherings designed to encourage conversation between designers, brands, and visitors. Held across the eight districts in settings ranging from rooftop picnics to hidden courtyard gardens and canal-side lounges, the dinners transform dining into what organizers call “a social design experience.”

Six new i-Points across the Design Districts serve as information hubs, staffed by District Managers and Design Ambassadors to help guide guests through the citywide programme. Visitors can also join Design Walks and attend the Entering the Now Symposium, which explores contemporary issues in design, urbanism, and material innovation.

Notable Exhibitions and Installations

&Tradition explores the legacy of Verner Panton on what would have been his 100th birthday, presenting never-before-realized arrangements of his legendary Flowerpot Lamp at the Copenhagen showroom, the Danish Design Museum, and the Danish Architecture Centre. Canadian lighting brand A-N-D has opened its permanent European flagship showroom in Copenhagen’s Latin Quarter, and Gubi presents “Scenes” — an immersive exploration of the contemporary home as curation.

Apparel and Design Merchandise

Design festivals and events like 3 Days of Design are excellent opportunities for custom-printed apparel. As Copenhagen’s creative community gathers, branded T-shirts, tote bags, and hoodies featuring festival logos, exhibition-specific artwork, and Danish design motifs are popular among attendees. Custom screen-printed merchandise for brand pop-ups, showroom events, and exhibition launches helps create a cohesive visual identity that extends beyond the festival itself.

For event organizers and exhibitors, custom-printed staff uniforms and promotional giveaways with minimalist Scandinavian design aesthetics align perfectly with the festival’s emphasis on purposeful, meaningful design.
