Copenhell, Denmark’s premier heavy metal festival, returns to Copenhagen’s Refshaleøen Island from June 24-27, 2026, with a lineup that reads like a metalhead’s dream. Iron Maiden headlines the four-day event alongside Danish heavyweights Volbeat, Bring Me the Horizon, Alice Cooper, Twisted Sister, and dozens more of the biggest names in rock and metal.

Now in its fourth year at the Refshalevej venue, Copenhell has grown from a passionate local gathering into an internationally recognized festival that draws fans from across Scandinavia and Europe. The 2026 edition features more than 50 bands across multiple stages, offering everything from classic heavy metal and thrash to modern metalcore and extreme genres.

The legendary Iron Maiden returns to Copenhagen as the marquee headliner, promising a career-spanning set of British heavy metal anthems. Danish rock giants Volbeat, fresh off their own world tour, will deliver a hometown show that’s sure to be one of the festival’s highlights. Other major acts include Bring Me the Horizon making their Copenhell debut, Alice Cooper’s theatrical shock-rock spectacle, Papa Roach, A Perfect Circle, Trivium, Anthrax, Sepultura, and The Pretty Reckless.

New additions to the lineup announced in June include Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine), Mastodon, Social Distortion, Bury Tomorrow, Paleface Swiss, All Them Witches, and Loathe. This mix of punk, stoner rock, progressive metal, and hardcore ensures there’s something for every heavy music fan.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster in several categories, including standard day passes, 4-day full festival passes, and R.I.P. VIP tickets offering premium amenities. The festival operates daily from late afternoon until midnight, with after-parties and side events adding to the carnival atmosphere of Copenhagen’s summer festival season.

Refshaleøen, a former industrial shipyard area, provides a rugged and atmospheric backdrop perfectly suited to the festival’s aesthetic. The location is easily reachable from central Copenhagen by bus, water taxi, or bicycle, making it convenient for both international visitors and locals.

For fans planning to attend, Copenhell is the perfect opportunity to pick up exclusive band merchandise, festival tees, and limited-edition prints. The festival also features food stalls, craft beer vendors, and a dedicated market area where vendors sell everything from leather jackets to vinyl records. With June temperatures in Copenhagen typically ranging from 15 to 22 degrees Celsius, the conditions are ideal for an outdoor metal festival.

Whether you’re coming for Iron Maiden, discovering new bands, or soaking up the unique atmosphere of Copenhagen’s heavy metal community, Copenhell 2026 promises four days of unforgettable music. Don’t miss your chance to be part of Scandinavia’s most intense festival experience.
