Kidapawan City — As classes resume for the new school year, the City Government of Kidapawan is rolling out its annual Student Subsidy program to help ease the financial burden on families. For School Year 2026-2027, every student enrolled in Kindergarten through Senior High School in the city will receive a total of ₱1,500.00 in financial assistance.
City Mayor Atty. Jose Paolo Evangelista announced that the subsidy will be distributed in two tranches. The first tranche of ₱1,000.00 will be released at the start of the school trimester, while the remaining ₱500.00 will be distributed during the latter part of the school year. The mayor explained that the distribution schedule was aligned with the new Grading Structure being implemented by the Department of Education (DepEd) across all schools nationwide.
The mayor also expressed gratitude to the city taxpayers and local revenue collectors whose efforts make programs like this possible. The subsidy is funded through the city local revenue, reflecting the LGU prioritization of education and youth development.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to coordinate with their respective schools for the distribution schedule. The program covers all students from Kindergarten to Senior High School across the city public educational institutions.
Kidapawan City, known as the City of Fruits in the Soccsksargen region, has been ramping up its education programs in recent years. This subsidy is just one of several initiatives aimed at supporting learners and ensuring access to quality education for all Kidapaweño students.
