In a stunning reversal that has electrified the global culinary world, Noma — the Copenhagen restaurant that was twice named the best in the world — is reopening its doors in Copenhagen on August 5, 2026. The legendary dining destination, which held its final service in 2024 after a decade of redefining modern cuisine, is coming home for a new chapter that promises to be just as groundbreaking as the original.

A New Chapter, Not a Reunion Tour

This is not simply a revival of the old Noma. Chef and co-founder René Redzepi will step into a new role as Creative Director, while Pablo Soto takes the reins as Executive Head Chef. The restaurant will operate out of its iconic space at Refshalevej 96 in Copenhagen, the same location that became a pilgrimage site for food lovers from every corner of the globe.

The new Noma will feature a microseasonal menu priced at 4,500 DKK (approximately 75 USD) per person, with wine pairing available for an additional 2,000 DKK. Service will run Wednesday through Saturday, and reservations will be available through the Noma newsletter, opening on July 14, 2026 at 3:00 PM CEST.

From LA Back to Copenhagen

The reopening follows Nomas recent Los Angeles residency, which ran from March 11 through June 26, 2026. That sixteen-week pop-up saw the team cooking, listening, learning, and building a body of work rooted in Californian ingredients and culture. The LA season was always intended as a temporary chapter, but few expected the permanent return to Copenhagen to come so soon.

Redzepi described the decision on social media as the beginning of something new rather than a return to what was. After a decade of menus shaped around foraging, fermentation, and hyper-local ingredients, the new Noma is expected to evolve the concept further — though specific details about the menu direction remain closely guarded.

Why This Matters Beyond Fine Dining

Nomas influence extends far beyond the tasting menu. The restaurant has been a catalyst for Copenhagens transformation into one of the worlds great food cities, inspiring a generation of chefs, restaurateurs, and food entrepreneurs. Its reopening is a major economic and cultural event for the Danish capital, drawing international visitors and media attention that benefits the entire hospitality ecosystem.

For the apparel and merchandise world, Noma has always been a branding powerhouse — from its iconic fermentation lab aesthetics to its collaborations with fashion and lifestyle brands. The reopening creates fresh opportunities for custom merch, branded apparel, and lifestyle products tied to one of the most recognizable names in global gastronomy.

Looking Ahead

With reservations expected to sell out within minutes and food enthusiasts already marking their calendars for July 14, the anticipation for new Noma is at fever pitch. The Copenhagen season is expected to run from August 5 through the end of January 2027, giving diners a limited window to experience what many are already calling the most anticipated restaurant reopening in history.

One thing is certain: when Noma opens its doors on August 5, the world will be watching — and Copenhagen will once again be at the center of the culinary universe.
