NIKE, Inc. and the National Basketball Association (NBA) have announced a landmark 12-year extension of their global partnership that will keep Nike as the exclusive uniform and apparel provider for the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League through the 2037 season. The deal solidifies Nike’s position as the dominant force in basketball apparel and merchandise for another decade-plus.

The extension comes as the WNBA celebrates its 30th anniversary season with unprecedented growth in popularity, attendance, and merchandise sales. Nike has been the exclusive on-court apparel provider for both leagues since 2017 and has deepened its investment in women’s basketball significantly over that period.

WNBA Gets a Major Boost

As part of the expanded agreement, NIKE, Inc. is deepening its investment in the WNBA specifically. “As the biggest champion of the women’s game, NIKE, Inc. is deepening its investment in the WNBA,” the company stated in its official announcement. This commitment comes at a pivotal moment as the league has added three expansion teams — the Golden State Valkyries, Portland Fire, and Toronto Tempo — and seen surging fan engagement in its 30th season.

The partnership goes beyond uniforms. Nike will continue designing and manufacturing all on-court apparel, fan gear, and merchandise for all 15 WNBA franchises and 30 NBA teams. The extension also includes new content initiatives, a comprehensive commitment to grassroots basketball, and the continued development of a joint membership program offering fans exclusive access to products, content, and experiences.

What This Means for Fans

“Nike has always been more than a league sponsor — we’re a strategic partner with an unwavering commitment to growing the game,” says Elliott Hill, NIKE, Inc. President and CEO. “Our collective power, global reach and genuine love for the game will only continue to create new pathways and opportunities for players and fans.”

For WNBA fans, the long-term deal ensures continued access to premium officially licensed merchandise including jerseys, lifestyle apparel, footwear, and accessories from the biggest sportswear brand in the world. Nike’s recent WNBA releases — including the 2026 Rebel Edition jerseys and the 30th Anniversary retro collection — demonstrate the kind of product fans can expect for years to come.

With the WNBA currently in the midst of its Commissioner’s Cup tournament and the All-Star break approaching in late July, fans can look forward to even more exclusive merchandise drops as part of this extended partnership. The 12-year commitment from gives both leagues the stability to plan long-term product cycles and continue pushing the boundaries of sports apparel design.
