Panabo City, known as the Banana Capital of the Philippines, is setting its sights on a bold new tourism strategy — showcasing its thriving industrial estate to visitors and tourists.
The city government of Panabo in Davao del Norte is planning to open the doors of its various manufacturing plants within the industrial estate, offering guided tours that highlight the citys growing role as an agro-industrial hub in the region.
This initiative aligns with the citys broader push to diversify its tourism offerings beyond its well-known banana industry. The Anflo Industrial Estate, a 63-hectare economic zone and the Philippines premier agro-industrial hub, has been a key driver of economic growth in Panabo City for over a decade.
By opening industrial sites to tourists, Panabo City aims to position itself as a destination that blends agricultural heritage with modern manufacturing excellence. Visitors can expect to see firsthand how the citys banana production and other agro-industrial operations work, from processing to packaging and export.
The move also complements the citys ongoing efforts to develop a comprehensive Tourism and Culture Development Plan for 2026–2030, which includes plans for zip lines, food amenities, sports facilities, and tourist-friendly banana production sites.
