Swiss hospitality brand Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is opening its first coastal property in Croatia. The Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Kvarner Bay is scheduled to open near Novi Vinodolski in July 2026, bringing world-class luxury to the stunning Kvarner Bay coastline.
The premium brand, part of the global Accor group, has been expanding across Europe with recent openings in Poland, Greece, and Italy. Founded in 1948 as a pioneering Swiss restaurant company, Mövenpick has evolved into an international hotel brand with more than 140 properties worldwide.
Second Mövenpick in Croatia
This will be the brand’s second property in Croatia, following the successful launch of Mövenpick Zagreb in June 2022. The Zagreb hotel, located in the Buzin business district, offers 104 smart-tech rooms and suites popular with business travelers.
The new Kvarner Bay property represents a significant step up in scale and ambition for the brand.
198 Rooms with Adriatic Sea Views
The hotel will feature 198 rooms and suites, most with private balconies overlooking the Adriatic Sea and the island of Krk. Guests will enjoy panoramic views of one of the most beautiful stretches of the Croatian coast.
A major highlight will be the Salterra Wellness & Spa centre, covering 14,000 square metres and expected to become Croatia’s largest wellness facility. The spa will include heated seawater pools, saunas, a Turkish hammam, and comprehensive wellness treatments.
Family-Friendly Facilities
The hotel is designed with families in mind, featuring the Sea Breeze pool park for outdoor fun and the Little Birds Club, a dedicated children’s program.
The spa is set to open later this year, adding another dimension to the guest experience and establishing Kvarner Bay as a premium wellness destination.
Boosting Croatian Tourism
The opening comes as Croatian tourism experiences record growth. With international arrivals surging and new direct flight routes launching across Europe and beyond, Croatia is firmly established as one of Europe’s top travel destinations for 2026.
The arrival of a globally recognized luxury brand signals growing confidence in the Croatian hospitality market and is expected to attract affluent international visitors to the Kvarner region.
Novi Vinodolski, a charming coastal town with a rich history dating back to the 13th century, is poised to benefit from increased visibility as more travelers discover the natural beauty of Kvarner Bay.
