Wolverhampton Wanderers have unveiled their official 2026/27 home kit, and it’s a beauty. Designed as the centrepiece of the club’s landmark 150th anniversary celebrations, the shirt brings back the Wolverhampton city coat of arms for the first time in more than 30 years.

Fan-Voted Shade of Gold

For the first time in the club’s history, supporters had a direct say in the colour of the shirt. The club identified three distinct shades of old gold that have defined Wolves throughout the decades: the rusty brown gold of the 1930s–50s, the orangey gold worn throughout the 1970s–90s, and the brighter modern shade used in recent years.

The club put these options to a public vote on the Wolves App, with nearly 10,000 supporters taking part over 13 days. The winner, with 47 per cent of the vote, was the orangey gold of the 1970s, 80s, and 90s — a shade that club historian Peter Crump described as holding “a very special place in the heart of this club.”

The Return of the City Coat of Arms

The most striking design feature is the replacement of the modern Wolves badge with the Wolverhampton city coat of arms. The crest last appeared on a Wolves shirt between 1993 and 1996 and famously featured on the club’s 1960 FA Cup final-winning shirt. Its return marks the first time it has graced a Wolves shirt since Wolverhampton was granted official city status in 2000.

Manufactured by SUDU, the shirt features a bespoke two-colour filament yarn knit with a pattern inspired by the coat of arms woven directly into the fabric. Black detailing appears on the V-neck collar, sleeve cuffs, manufacturer logos, and front sponsor branding.

Heritage Meets Modern Performance

While the design is firmly rooted in tradition, the performance technology is thoroughly modern. The shirt is finished in a premium satin-stitch woven application that SUDU engineered exclusively for Wolves’ anniversary season. The kit is paired with old gold shorts and matching socks with black horizontal bands.

Availability and Pricing

The 2026/27 Wolves home kit went on sale on Friday, 5 June at the Wolves Megastore and online, with adult pro versions at £80, standard adult shirts at £60, and junior shirts at £45. Fans have reacted overwhelmingly positively, with many praising the club for embracing its traditions in such a meaningful way.
