Burberry’s iconic check pattern has long been a symbol of classic style, but in the Philippines, where heat and humidity are everyday realities, many of us crave that look in a fabric that actually breathes. That’s where custom printing comes in. Whether you want a full-on plaid polo for a company uniform, a subtle tartan accent on a button-down for your barkada’s next outing, or a bold patterned shirt for a wedding entourage, a local printing shop can make it happen without the designer price tag. We’re here to walk you through everything you need to know to create your own Burberry-inspired custom shirt—from fabric choices to print methods, design ideas, and how to get it delivered straight to your doorstep anywhere in the Philippines.

Fabric Options for Your Custom Shirt

The key to a comfortable custom shirt is selecting the right material. In our tropical climate, you want something that won’t trap sweat. Here are our top fabric recommendations for Burberry-style prints:

  • Premium Cotton Polyester Blend (65% cotton / 35% polyester) – Breathable, soft, and holds vibrant colors well. Ideal for sublimation printing because the poly content locks in the dye.
  • Airism-Like Microfiber – Ultra-lightweight and moisture-wicking, perfect for daily wear under the sun. Great for sports uniforms or casual button-downs.
  • Oxford Cotton – A slightly heavier fabric with a structured look. Best if you want your Burberry-inspired shirt to feel more formal—good for office wear or events.
  • Linen-Cotton Mix – The ultimate Filipino summer fabric. It breathes exceptionally well and gives a relaxed, textured feel to plaid patterns.

Each fabric reacts differently to printing, so we’ll help you match your design to the material that suits your lifestyle and budget.

Getting that crisp check pattern or subtle monogram requires the right printing technique. We offer several methods, each with its own advantage:

  • Dye-Sublimation – Best for all-over prints. The design infuses into the fabric, so it never cracks, peels, or fades. Perfect for full plaid shirts or repeating logo patterns.
  • Screen Printing – Ideal for smaller repeating elements like a collar lining or pocket square. Offers rich, opaque color on cotton fabrics.
  • Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) – Great for small, single-color accents—like a custom back-of-collar label or a minimalist tartan stripe on the sleeve.
  • Direct-to-Garment (DTG) – A good choice for intricate designs with many colors (e.g., a realistic Burberry trenchcoat graphic) on 100% cotton shirts.

We’ll recommend the method that matches your design complexity and order quantity—whether you need just one shirt or a bulk batch for your entire team.

Design Ideas to Inspire You

You don’t have to copy Burberry exactly. Put your own spin on it. Here are a few concepts our Filipino clients have loved:

  • Barong-Inspired Check – Combine the classic red-and-black Burberry grid with a sheer, embroidered piña or jusi effect on the front. Perfect for a modern Filipino tuxedo.
  • Contrast Collar and Cuffs – Keep the main shirt solid white or black, then print the Burberry check only on the inside of the collar, cuffs, and placket. Subtle and classy.
  • All-Over Plaid with Personal Monogram – Choose your own color palette (say, blue and gold for your school) and add your initials in the repeat pattern.
  • Tagalog Motto Insert – Print the word “Barangay” or a famous Filipino saying inside the check pattern for a local touch that still looks premium.
  • Event-Specific Custom Shirts – For a reunion, print the year “2025” among the check marks. The possibilities are endless.
