New Corella, situated in the Province of Davao Del Norte, is classified as a 2nd class municipality. Its origins can be traced back to the indigenous tribes and settlers hailing from Corella, Bohol. These early inhabitants diligently cultivated the land, leading to the establishment of the municipality. In 1964, through Presidential Proclamation and the enactment of House Bill No. 394, Republic Act 4747 officially recognized New Corella as a municipality.
