LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — The historic island of Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City became the diplomatic heart of Southeast Asia as it hosted the 48th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit from May 6 to 8, 2026.
Presiding over the landmark assembly was Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., serving as the Asean chair for 2026.
