01 Identity

02 History
F. Bangoy National High School began in 1969 as an extension of Davao City National High School. The ledger below marks the decisions and donations that built the campus it occupies today.
1969
The school is created as a barrio extension high school of Davao City National High School, bringing secondary education closer to learners in Sasa and the old airport area.
1973
The school begins receiving government subsidies and grows from an extension into a full barangay high school.
Named for a donor
The campus is named after Francisco B. Bangoy, who donated the land the school stands on, and the school carries his name to this day.
Republic Act 6655
The Free Public Secondary Education Act nationalizes the school and brings it fully under the national secondary school system.
2008
Enrollment reaches 4,759 learners, the biggest in Davao City. A new classroom building with twelve rooms is turned over and the campus grows to 46 classrooms.
2012
F. Bangoy NHS becomes one of the first schools in Region XI to teach Spanish under the Special Program in Foreign Language, opening the door to Chinese Mandarin and Korean in the years that follow.
2015
The school runs morning and afternoon shifts and moves into the K to 12 program, adding the Senior High School years with Academic and Technical Vocational Livelihood tracks.
2022 to 2023
The school community grows to 8,339 learners, supported by 237 teachers and staff across the junior and senior high school departments.
2025
Campus Glimpse is named the best secondary school paper in English in the Philippines at the National Schools Press Conference, the school's first national title.
03 Programs
F. Bangoy NHS delivers the full secondary sequence, from Grade 7 through Grade 12, with a dedicated foreign language program and a late afternoon option for senior high learners.
Grades 7 to 10, covering languages, mathematics, sciences, social studies, values, and MAPEH, all building toward the Senior High years.
Grades 11 and 12 for learners bound for college, with subjects and electives that lead toward a degree program.
Grades 11 and 12 for learners heading into work or a TESDA credential, with hands on technical and livelihood subjects.
Under the national Strengthened Senior High School program that takes effect in June 2026, the former academic strands are reorganized into an Academic Track and a Technical Professional Track. Confirm the exact electives F. Bangoy NHS will offer with the school registrar before enrolling.
The Senior High School department also runs a Late Afternoon Program for learners who attend later in the day. Ask the registrar whether your track is available in this schedule.
04 Languages
The Special Program in Foreign Language makes F. Bangoy NHS one of the region's language schools. Learners study a foreign language alongside the regular curriculum and compete in the regional Festival of Talents.
The first language offered when the school joined the program in 2012, and still its anchor.
Learners train for Mandarin expositions and cultural festivals, including the Confucius Institute's Chinese Cultural Festival.
A newer addition where learners have placed in the regional Festival of Talents in Korean exposition and composition.
At the 2025 Regional Festival of Talents in Malita, Davao Occidental, F. Bangoy NHS learners placed first in Chinese Mandarin and first runner up in Korean exposition and composition. The school went on to reach the national stage of the 2025 National Festival of Talents.
National Schools Press Conference 2025
At the 2025 National Schools Press Conference, Campus Glimpse, the official publication of F. Bangoy National High School, was named the best school paper at the secondary level in the English medium in the entire Philippines. It was the school's first national title.

05 Student life
The student body is led by the Supreme Student Government, and school life runs on student organizations, campus media, and community programs.
The SSLG leads the student body, runs campus activities, and posts school updates under the banner "We are one Bangoy High."

YES-O leads campus cleanups and environmental awareness work, from school grounds to coastal cleanup drives.
Reading support: incoming Grade 7 learners go through an oral reading assessment that places them in the school's Reading Remediation Program.
