According to reports from Malaya Business Insight, SM has mobilized relief goods and essential supplies for distribution to displaced families in General Santos City. The earthquake, which was centered about 32 kilometers southwest of Maasim town in Sarangani province at a depth of 33 kilometers, caused widespread damage across General Santos City. At least 11 residents were killed and 142 others injured. Major commercial buildings, including a supermarket, collapsed during the quake, and many establishments along Pendatun Avenue suffered severe structural damage.
