Koronadal City has always been a place where hard work meets opportunity, and few stories embody this spirit better than that of Paul Samillano, the young entrepreneur behind Bloom Box. Featured by the City Government of Koronadal, Paul’s journey from a 14-year-old working at a BBQ stand to becoming one of the city’s most recognized business owners is inspiring.
Bloom Box started as a small digital concept during the pandemic, offering affordable gourmet-inspired comfort food that Paul had perfected during his college years. While studying, he turned his dorm-room kitchen into a test kitchen, cooking Spicy Spaghetti and Creamy Carbonara to fund his tuition. Those midnight snacks became the foundation of a menu that today has turned Bloom Box into a beloved local dining destination.
What began as a modest 40-square-meter space has expanded into a massive 1,000-square-meter hub, fueled by overwhelming community support. Bloom Box has become more than just a restaurant — it is a community anchor. Paul’s latest venture, What’s in the Box Town Square, is a vibrant community hub where he mentors aspiring Koronadaleño entrepreneurs.
Paul’s achievements include being named the Most Outstanding Young Entrepreneur 2025 at the SOCCSKSARGEN Business Conference and Youth Entrepreneurship Awardee at NextGen Biz Expo 2025.
