Bislig City proudly hosted the 66th Araw ng Surigao del Sur celebration on June 15–16, 2026, at the Bislig City Cultural and Sports Center, bringing together provincial and local government officials, community leaders, and residents for a two-day festivities honoring the province’s founding anniversary.
The celebration gathered delegations from across Surigao del Sur for a series of events that highlighted the province’s rich culture, heritage, and community spirit. The program featured a flag-raising ceremony on June 15, marking the official opening of the anniversary festivities, followed by cultural performances, civic programs, and sporting events that continued through June 16.
Among the highlights of the celebration was the Araw ng Surigao del Sur Basketball Tournament, which brought together teams from across the province for a thrilling competition. The tournament finale was held on June 17, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the Bislig City Cultural and Sports Center, drawing enthusiastic crowds of supporters and basketball fans.
A Showcase of Bislig’s Capabilities
Hosting the 66th Araw ng Surigao del Sur underscored Bislig City’s role as a key hub in the province. The City Government of Bislig worked closely with provincial organizers to ensure the event ran smoothly, providing logistical support, venue preparation, and community mobilization.
