What Is Batang Pinoy?
Batang Pinoy is the national youth sports competition of the Philippines, created by Executive Order No. 44 on December 2, 1998 under President Joseph Ejercito Estrada. It is an annual program for athletes aged 15 years old and below, and it is the Philippine Sports Commission’s premier grassroots program for discovering young talent. Who Can Join?
Young Athletes
Filipino athletes aged 15 years old and below who train in a recognized sport, whether through school, a club, or a community program. Athletes compete in their age bracket per event, and every entry must be backed by a PSA birth certificate as proof of age.
LGU Delegations
Cities and municipalities field official delegations led by a Head of Delegation (HoD). Coaches, the HoD, and the LGU sports office handle selection, endorsements, forms, and submission. If your child is not yet in the LGU system, your first move is a visit to the sports development office.

Go to the Sports Development Office of your city or municipality and ask about Batang Pinoy screening and tryouts. LGUs select their athletes based on performance in local meets, club results, or recommendations from coaches and schools. Bring your child’s PSA birth certificate and any competition records.

Secure the LGU Endorsement Official Gate
The LGU issues an official endorsement for qualified athletes to represent the city or municipality. This comes through the Office of the Mayor or the LGU sports office, and it is the document that formally enters your athletes into the national games. A standard endorsement letter states that the athletes are in training, endorsed by their coaches and schools, and requesting approval and support to compete.

Complete the Athlete Documents 7 Requirements
Every athlete’s file needs the full checklist below: PSA birth certificate, medical clearance, parental consent, parent or guardian valid ID, the LGU endorsement, the signed Form B, and 2×2 ID pictures on a white background. The delegation also prepares the five official general forms listed in the next section.

Fill Up and Sign Form B Per Sport
Form B is the official Entry by Name per Event form, and each sport has its own edition. The rules from the official athletics Form B apply across the board: each participating LGU submits the original copy with the signature of the Head Coach, duly noted by the Head of Delegation, and it must be uploaded during the online registration by the assigned Head Coach. Names on the form must match the athletes’ PSA birth certificate exactly and match what is entered in the official online registration system. Any discrepancy delays screening and validation of entries, and excess entries outside the sport’s technical handbook may be deleted or disregarded by the organizers.

Register Online and Submit Original Copies Deadline Rules
The head coach uploads the scanned Form B and supporting documents in the official online registration system, and the delegation submits all original copies personally or through a courier to the Head of the Registration and Accreditation Committee at the Philippine Sports Commission, 3rd Floor Admin Building, Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Pablo Ocampo Sr. Street, Malate, Manila 1004. Non submission of Form B and its supporting documents on or before the published deadline is construed as a waiver of the LGU’s privilege to participate.

3 Rules That Remove Athletes: Know Them Before You Submit
1. Name mismatches kill entries. Names on Form B must be consistent with the first and last names as they appear on the athletes’ PSA birth certificate and with the information submitted to the online registration system. Any discrepancy causes delays in screening and validation.
2. Missed deadlines mean a lost slot. Non submission of the BP Form B and its supporting documents on or before the deadline is construed as a waiver of the LGU’s privilege to participate in the games.
3. The official secretariat never sends text messages. The Batang Pinoy National Secretariat is not and will not be sending text messages. Ignore any SMS claiming to be from the organizers, especially anything asking for money or personal details.
Frequently Asked Questions About Joining
Can my child join Batang Pinoy without going through the city hall?
No. Entry is strictly through LGU delegations. Individual entries, school only entries, and club only entries do not exist in the official system. Visit your city or municipal sports development office to enter the selection process.
What is the age limit for Batang Pinoy?

What happens if two names on Form B do not match the PSA birth certificate?
Screening and validation of the entry is delayed, and unresolved mismatches can get the athlete dropped. Copy names from the PSA certificate character by character, in the same order.
How much does it cost to join?
The official requirements checklist lists documents, not fees. Registration and accreditation are processed by the PSC and the LGU. If anyone asks your family for money in exchange for a slot, treat it as a red flag and report it to your LGU sports office.
Do athletes receive allowances?
Yes. The PSC published an advisory on athletes’ allowance disbursements through Maya for the games, so qualified athletes receive their allowances digitally. Ask your Head of Delegation for the exact payout schedule of the current edition.
My child has no PSA birth certificate yet. What do we do?
