The Department of Tourism (DOT) Caraga Region conducted a three-day Festival Enhancement Seminar-Workshop in Surigao City on June 16, 2026, aimed at strengthening the capacity of tourism officers and event organizers across the region.
The seminar-workshop covered key areas including choreography development and workshop facilitation, equipping local tourism frontliners with the skills needed to elevate festivals and cultural events throughout the Caraga region. Participants from various local government units came together in Surigao City to share best practices and develop strategies that will enhance the quality and impact of their respective community celebrations.
As part of DOT continuing efforts to promote service excellence in the tourism sector, the workshop represented a significant investment in Surigao City position as a regional hub for culture, arts, and tourism in northeastern Mindanao. Surigao City, known for hosting major regional events and festivals, continues to play a vital role in setting standards for festival management and community engagement across the Caraga region.
The initiative also supports the broader goal of boosting tourism not just in Surigao City but across all provinces in the Caraga region, encouraging both domestic and international visitors to experience the rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and warm hospitality that the area has to offer.
With Surigao City serving as the host and gateway, the DOT Caraga festival enhancement program is expected to yield more polished, professional, and memorable festivals in the coming months, further cementing the region reputation as a premier destination in Mindanao.
