Bislig City is experiencing an unprecedented tourism boost as the 2026 Palarong Pambansa brings hundreds of athletes, coaches, and visitors from across the Philippines to the Caraga Region.

On May 28 alone, approximately 180 visitors flocked to the iconic Tinuy-an Falls, widely known as the Little Niagara of the Philippines, and the scenic Bislig Baywalk. The visitors represented regions from all over the country, including the National Capital Region, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, CALABARZON, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, and various provinces in Mindanao.

The Bislig City government expressed its gratitude to the Palarong Pambansa guests who chose to explore the city during the national sporting event. We are so incredibly grateful to all the athletes, coaches, and Palarong Pambansa guests who chose to make memories in our beautiful city. Your visits keep our community thriving and our smiles bright, the city government stated.

Department of Tourism – Caraga Region (DOT-13) Director Ivonnie Dumadag noted the significant influx of tourists to various destinations throughout the region as the games continue. With the competition ongoing in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, Bislig City expects even more visitors in the coming days.

Tourists are encouraged to explore Bislig Citys stunning waterfalls, coastal walks, and cultural sites. Tinuy-an Falls, a three-tiered waterfall in Barangay Burboanan, remains one of the most photographed natural attractions in Mindanao and has become a must-visit destination for travelers passing through the Caraga Region.

Local businesses, particularly those in the hospitality and food sectors, have reported increased foot traffic since the start of the games. The city government continues to promote Bislig as a premier eco-tourism destination in Surigao del Sur.

For travelers planning a visit, Bislig City offers a range of attractions beyond Tinuy-an Falls, including the Bislig Baywalk, mangrove eco-parks, and various community-based tourism initiatives supported by the local government.
