The Principality of Monaco is set to become the global epicenter of sustainable yachting innovation as the 13th Monaco Energy Boat Challenge returns from July 8 to 11, 2026 at the prestigious Yacht Club de Monaco. Organized with the support of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and UBS, this years edition promises to be the biggest and most international yet.

Since its launch, the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge has established itself as the worlds leading event dedicated to clean propulsion in the marine industry. Now in its 13th edition, the competition serves as a unique testing ground where universities, engineering students, yachting professionals, and emerging startups come together to showcase breakthrough technologies in electric, hydrogen, and alternative energy propulsion systems.

The 2026 edition has attracted a record-breaking 43 teams from 21 countries, reflecting the growing international interest in clean marine technology. Teams compete across the Energy Class (prototype boats), Open Sea Class (production boats with eco-friendly propulsion), and Autonomous Class (self-navigating clean energy boats).

The event includes a conference program featuring industry leaders, environmental experts, and policymakers discussing the future of sustainable maritime transportation. Networking sessions, pitch competitions, and technology exhibitions round out the program.
