Balenciaga is making its most ambitious move yet into performance cycling and activewear with the launch of TechWear, a comprehensive collection that includes cycling shorts, compression tops, bodysuits, and technical outerwear all carrying the house signature design language and luxury price tags.
Creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli first unveiled the line through Body and Being, his Fall 2026 collection for Balenciaga. The collection offers men and women clothing designed around mobility, comfort, and technical development, centered on the Balenciaga Bodies identity a continuous looping graphic communicating unrestricted movement and physical freedom.
What Is in the Collection
The TechWear line spans a wide range of performance garments. Tracksuits are constructed from mesh-membraned taffeta. Windbreaker sets come in leather. Ultrasonic-welded nylon tape joins garment edges with flat seams, eliminating conventional stitching. Reverse-knit technology gives Aqua-zip closures water-repellent properties.
The wardrobe includes hooded cowls, fitted tops, cycling shorts, hot pants, leggings, pants, and socks. Every piece supports active wear through elastic, breathable, and moisture-controlling fabrics. The materials also offer antibacterial, fast-drying, and UV-protective qualities. Reflective high-visibility graphics increase visibility in both indoor and outdoor settings throughout day and night.
The Wellness Experience
Balenciaga is developing the wellness concept well beyond clothing. The brand is hosting pop-up experiences in Paris, Beijing, Shanghai, and Bangkok featuring custom installations with limited-edition drinks and food products created specifically for the launch.
The menu draws from ingredients associated with exercise and recovery. Three smoothies lead the drinks selection: Main Character with marine collagen cubes, Momentum with peanut butter and cordyceps, and Back to Life with mango matcha and ashwagandha. Visitors can personalize each drink with vitamin oil, pea protein, or creatine additions.
A partnership with Barry extends the launch into fitness studios across Los Angeles, New York City, London, Paris, Milan, Dubai, Singapore, and Sydney. Each studio takeover features customized classes with special guests, curated Balenciaga music playlists, and dedicated decor. Barry Fuel Bar is serving a Balenciaga smoothie made from coconut water, vanilla whey, collagen, cacao nibs, bananas, and black sesame seeds.
Price and Availability
The Balenciaga TechWear collection is available now online at balenciaga.com, in Balenciaga stores, and at select retailers worldwide. Expect luxury pricing to match nylon leggings retail for around 995 dollars, placing the collection firmly in the premium performance fashion category.
For cycling fashion enthusiasts, the TechWear launch signals a growing crossover between high fashion and technical cycling apparel a trend that is only accelerating as brands like Pas Normal Studios and MAAP continue to blur the lines between race kit and streetwear.
