The 2026 MLS All-Star Game presented by Chime is officially set, and the matchup everyone wanted is back: MLS All-Stars vs. LIGA MX All-Stars. The best players from North America will collide at Charlotte FC Bank of America Stadium on Wednesday, July 29, with the Skills Challenge taking place the night before at Truist Field.
This will be the fifth all-time meeting between the two leagues in All-Star competition, with MLS holding a 3-1 edge in the series. After LIGA MX dominated the 2024 edition in Columbus, MLS bounced back with a 3-1 victory in Austin last summer. Now with Charlotte hosting for the first time, the stakes are even higher.
How the rosters are built
The MLS All-Star roster will consist of 26 players: 11 selected by fan vote, 13 chosen by the MLS All-Star head coach, and 2 Commissioner picks from MLS Commissioner Don Garber. The LIGA MX side will also feature 26 players, with details on their selection process coming soon.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup running from June 11 through July 19, many of the stars competing in North America will also feature in the All-Star showcase shortly after.
