Tajima Embroidery on Fleece

Fleece is a pile fabric, so a stitch that works on a flat knit can sink into the body. The backing and the stitch count are set against the fabric weight.

Tajima machines

Multi head Tajima machines run the bulk order, which keeps stitch density consistent across every garment in the run.

Backing for pile fabric

A cut away backing is set against the fleece weight so the mark sits clean and does not disappear into the pile.

The pullover is embroidered at the embroidery station on our own floor, so nothing is sent out for decoration.

Placement

Where the Mark Goes

Each placement suits a different mark size. Choosing the placement first avoids redigitising artwork later.

1. Left chest

The most requested placement. Suits a crest, a short wordmark or a mark with fine line detail.

CrestWordmark

2. Back yoke

Below the collar seam across the yoke, which takes a wider mark than the chest placement.

Wide markBack

3. Sleeve crest

A second mark on the sleeve, often used where the logo has a separate icon or an established year.

4. Nape

A small mark set inside the collar at the back of the neck, used where the chest is kept clear.

Digitising and proofing

From Artwork to an Approved Stitch File

Nothing reaches the bulk run until the stitch file is proved on the actual fabric.

  1. Artwork received

Send the logo in a vector format where possible, or a high resolution image.

  2. Digitised

The stitch file is built for the placement and the fleece weight, including the backing.

  3. Stitch proof

A proof is stitched on the actual fabric so density and colour are judged on the garment, not on screen.

  4. Approval

Once the proof is signed off, the bulk run is scheduled and produces in 7 to 12 days.

Matching Stitch Colour to Your Brand

A mark only reads as your brand if the stitch colour is right on the fabric it lands on.

Matched to your reference

Stitch colours are matched to the brand reference you supply, the same way garment colourways are matched to a Pantone reference.

Checked on the fabric

Colour is judged on the stitched proof rather than on a thread chart, because fleece shifts a shade against a flat swatch.

Questions

Bulk Embroidery Questions

What is the minimum for bulk embroidered half-zip pullovers?

Bulk production starts at 20 pieces per design. Where the pullover is already on the line, the floor drops to 5 to 10 pieces.

Which placements do you run as standard?

Four placements are quoted as standard: left chest, back yoke, sleeve crest and nape. Combinations are quoted per order.

Will I see a stitch proof before the order runs?

Yes. The stitch file is proved on the actual fabric before the bulk run, so density and colour are judged on the garment rather than on screen.

How is stitch colour matched?

Thread is matched to the brand reference you supply, then checked on the stitched proof, because fleece shifts a shade against a flat swatch.

Does fleece embroidery sink into the fabric?

It can if the backing is wrong. A cut away backing is set against the fleece weight so the mark sits clean and does not disappear into the pile.

Which machines run the order?

Multi head Tajima machines on our own floor, which keeps stitch density consistent across every garment in the run.

How long does a corporate bulk order take?

Bulk production normally takes 7 to 12 days after artwork and payment approval. Shipping time is additional.

Can the pullovers carry a staff name as well as the logo?

Yes. A name mark can be added at the opposite chest to the logo, quoted per order once the digitised name file is approved.

What fabric weights suit embroidery?

Polyester fleece across the 200 to 300 GSM range, and French terry from 360 to 400 GSM, with the backing set against the weight you choose.

Where is the embroidery done?

On our own embroidery floor in Tagum City, alongside the cut and sew lines in Tagum City and Cagayan de Oro.
